The XVIII Congress of the Spanish Society of Phytopathology (SEF) – http://sef.es – will be held from 20th to 23th September in Palencia, where various LIFE HEALTHY FOREST members will participate and present several posters and communications related to the project.
The programme will follow the model of previous editions, with plenary sessions and three simultaneous conference lectures, as well as large space for posters. Seven invited plenary lectures will be issued by the following researchers: Maria Saponari (Institute for Sustainable Plant Protection, Turin, Italy), Mike Wingfield (FABI, South Africa), Thomas Gordon (University of California, Davis USA), Sophien Kamoun (The Sainsbury Laboratory, UK) Ricardo Flores (Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Plants, Valencia), Antonio de Vicente (University of Malaga) and Mariano Cambra (Valencian Institute for Agricultural Research-IVIA).
The Congress will be complemented by symposia “Xylella fastidiosa: a complex of species causing emerging diseases in Europe” and “Innate immunity signaling and plant disease resistance”, to be held during the morning of Tuesday 20th September.
The conference will provide a solid stage for sharing experiences among professionals from both the academic environment and the professional. It is intended and expected the participation of industry leaders, investors, policy makers, researchers and all those professionals that work in the field of plant pathology, to discuss the latest scientific breakthroughs and future technological perspectives.
